AI image modification

I work in a small digital art community, and we’ve already had conflicts because someone used AI to modify images without clear consent. Technically it wasn’t illegal, but socially it caused real damage and mistrust. That’s where I think ethics matter more than rules. Platforms like clothoff show how powerful these tools have become, and power always needs limits set by users, not just developers. For me, a simple test helps: would I be comfortable if someone did the same thing with my image, without asking? If the answer is no, I don’t do it. AI removes friction, but it shouldn’t remove empathy. I also think forums like this are important, because policies lag behind reality, and shared norms usually form here first.
