Do you believe algorithms actually help you find good games anymore?

I swear algorithms used to be way better at figuring out what I liked. A few years ago, Steam and Xbox recommendations actually helped me find hidden gems that matched my taste. Lately though, it’s just sequels or generic stuff I’ve already seen a hundred times. Do you guys still get good suggestions from the store or do you mostly find new games from word of mouth or random sites?

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same. The recommendations now feel like they just push popular titles instead of stuff I’d genuinely enjoy. I actually started browsing smaller indie collections and random community lists instead. Found a few cool ones through https://crikey7.com/RFC7%40SEO005 it’s not another ad-filled store, just a spot where people share underrated games they’ve stumbled upon. Felt way more personal than algorithm feeds.

Honestly, I’ve stopped depending on the stores altogether. I just check out gameplay clips on YouTube or Twitch before buying anything. Seeing how a game actually plays beats any recommendation list, especially since you can tell right away if it fits your vibe or not.
