Has anyone else noticed gaming quietly sharpening focus and easing daily stress?

I have recently noticed that my mentality keep repairing when on gaming worlds. So let's get this straight, for me it's usually a bit of an open-world wander or something turn-based when things feel overwhelming. There's this odd satisfaction in chipping away at small goals that suddenly makes the bigger real-life mess seem less impossible. I've caught myself handling work deadlines with a steadier mindset after a decent session too, like the constant decision-making in-game rubs off a little. Considering this i started o search more about The Benefits of Gaming for Your Mental Health. It's not preachy or anything, just lays out some thoughts I've nodded along to myself over the years. Still think it's mostly about finding the right sort of game that doesn't wind you up more.

Sometimes you see younger players absolutely glued to their screens in public transport, controllers in hand, and it hits you how much quieter and more focused they look compared to everyone else glued to endless feeds. Makes you wonder whether that deep concentration is becoming rarer in other parts of life these days, especially with notifications pinging every few seconds. Even just watching someone lost in their own little world like that feels oddly calming from the outside.

Lately I've been sinking an hour or so into this chill puzzle game after work, and it's weirdly refreshing. Instead of doom-scrolling or staring at the ceiling replaying annoying conversations from the day, my brain just locks in on figuring out the next move. By the time I switch off, that tight knot in my shoulders has loosened a bit, and I actually feel ready to cook dinner without snapping at the cat for knocking stuff over. It's not like I'm grinding competitive ranked matches or anything intense – just something absorbing enough to pull me out of my own head. Anyone finding the same thing happening with their sessions, or is it just me overthinking it?
